Summer is Winding Down
A Fresh New Look
The first thing you may notice around here is a new look for my website! I will be launching a dedicated page for buying prints shortly, so watch for that. You also might notice some peep in the new website’s step. There has been a lot of behind the scene upgrades on the back end of the site. New galleries will be rolling out shortly, along with a lot of never before seen photos, so follow the blog in your RSS feeds to make sure you don’t miss out.
It’s been a long, but great summer! At the beginning of the summer, I was in northern California, from the Bay Area to the mighty redwood forests. I spent some time at my grandparent in San Jose, visited Alcatraz (again) and then spent a few days camping in the woods.
In the middle of the summer, it was back to California and onward up! I stopped briefly on the way to Oregon at Fern Canyon. I met good friends of mine, Rick Sammon and Alex Morley, while they were teaching a workshop along the coast. I even had time to visit with the workshop participants and go over some macro, focus stacking, and long exposure techniques. It was a good time by all!
One of my favorite stops along the Pacific Northwest coast is always Shore Acres and Minor White’s wall. The entire grounds are incredible for ocean views, macro work, black and whites, and abstract photography.
After a week on the Oregon Coast, I headed towards home down through the Sierra Nevada’s briefly, a quick stop in Las Vegas and finally back home. Here we are today at the end of August, and soon the triple digits in Arizona will be finished, and it will be time to enjoy the fall and winter of my home state. I am looking forward to heading north for the fall colors in just about one short month!
